At the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on Friday, during Australia’s ODI World Cup league match against Pakistan, ace batsman Steve Smith was observed bleeding around his knee.
Smith was fielding at point when the incident occurred in the 14th over of the second innings. Smith dove to snag the ball. But his knee caught on the ground.
His knee started bleeding right away, and Smith appeared to be in some agony as well.
Even though there were still bloodstains on his pants around his knees, the Australian batter’s injury didn’t appear to be too significant because he was observed fielding in the next overs.
